HOW TO APPLY

Some Important Points

After meeting eligibility criteria and qualifying the Research Aptitude Test, candidates will be invited for interview.  Admission to the PhD program is subject to available vacancy and compatibility of faculty and candidate research interests.

Candidates with no prior background in Psychology will be required to complete at least 6 credits (2 courses) for Psychology courses. Candidates may also take other relevant coursework that will be deemed necessary for their research.

We encourage interdisciplinary and collaborative research. Candidates may also opt for joint supervision by faculty from another University in India or abroad. However, one of the main Supervisors must be affiliated with JIBS.

Supervisor(s) are finalised once the registration of the doctoral project is completed. This is not subject to change during the course of the study, apart from some exceptional cases, with approval from the JIBS Doctoral Committee.

After Admission

Upon joining the PhD program, the candidate shall have a three membered Research Advisory Panel to guide them through their research for the first six months. These advisors can be researchers other than the candidate’s Supervisor(s).
