Babita

Academic Tutor & TRIP Fellow

B.A.; M.Phil. (Himachal Pradesh University)

Babita Kashyap first developed an interest in Psychology at the age of twelve, when she volunteered at the local homeless shelter as a conversation partner to alleviate loneliness. As part of her responsibilities, she engaged the residents in conversation in the hopes of encouraging them to provide more information necessary to help them reunite with family members and obtain further aid. Her work inspired her to become a Psychotherapist. Babita got her bachelors degree from St. Bede’s College, Shimla in Psychology and Political Science. Thereafter she studied Psychology at the University of Himachal Pradesh, where she received Master's of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree. She was also selected as a POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Champion in 2017 by Piramal Healthcare and also was awarded as the Best Counselor from HIHL (Health Information Helpline) for a case from the HO (Hyderabad). Babita was recently a Counselling Psychologist in the Lovely Professional University, Punjab. She divided her time between mentoring and being a psychologist at the university. She also helped setting up a very successful campaign in spreading the information about the mental health awareness. It gathered over one thousand students all across the university and even beyond. Being the key speaker in an event of students of such mass is not just an accomplishment anymore but more of a passion drive for her.
