Shankey Verma completed his Ph.D. from the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, OP Jindal Global University. His Ph.D. work focuses on experiences of intimate partner violence among females enrolled in higher education institutions in India and its association with depression, PTSD, and academic persistence. He completed his Master’s degree in Criminology from the National Forensic Science University, Delhi, where he was awarded a gold medal for his academic excellence. He has also qualified UGC-NET (Criminology) in 2015, 2016, and 2018.

Work Experience

From tracking illicit financial flows in KPMG, Gurugram, to delving into the intricacies of Islamic State radicalization with the National Investigation Agency, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, his career has traversed the frontiers of financial crime and national security. He is presently posted as Prison Welfare Officer at Tihar Prisons in Delhi, the largest prison complex in Asia, where he is working for the reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration of incarcerated individuals.

Research Experience

His research spans diverse social and psychological issues, tackling critical concerns like child marriage and intimate partner violence, mental health impacts of COVID-19, internet gaming disorder, psychometrics, and critical examination of government schemes and policies.
