Prof. Maneka Nair Sastharam

Maneka Nair Sastharam holds the position of Associate Professor and Vice Dean (Office of Student Affairs) at Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences(JIBS). She is also a Member of the Committee on Gender Sensitization Against Sexual Harassment (COGSASH). At JIBS, Prof. Sastharam is in charge of Attendance, Orientation and graduation, faculty mentorship programmes, student initiatives and student disciplinary committee.

Prof. Sastharam has multifaceted responsibilities which range from overseeing attendance, co-ordinating orientation and graduation ceremonies. With a steadfast commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive academic environment, she undertakes multifaceted responsibilities within the educational institution. She is in charge of developing the Faculty Mentorship Programme to ensure a connection between the teacher and the taught so as to help students achieve personal and professional growth under the guidance of their educators. She is also a member of the Student Disciplinary Committee in-charge of student initiatives and awards.

Teaching Experience

Prior to Prof. Sastharam joining JIBS, she held the position of Associate Professor and  Dy. Programme Director & Assistant Dean (Office of Academic Affairs) at Jindal Global Law School(JGLS). She was also the Deputy Director of the Moot Court Society of JGLS.

Research Experience

Prof. Sastharam’s research is on Constitutional Law, Environmental Law and its intersection with policy and Jurisprudence.
