Sonia Rani is currently working as a lecturer, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS). and Special Educator, Disability Support Committee(DSC) O.P. Jindal Global University.She has completed her Bachelor and Master in Rehabilitation Science from the PG and Research Department of Rehabilitation Science and Special Education, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. She is the recipient of the Gold Medal and Best Outgoing Student Award and also the proud recipient of the Leadership Award for Excellence as a Student Council Member. To her academic excellence, she had completed the third semester with credit transfer at Howest University with the Indo-Belgium Scholarship.

Prior to joining JGU, worked as an Assistant Professor in the PG & Research department of Rehabilitation Science and Special Education, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. She has taught courses on Intellectual developmental disability, Sign Language, Personality Development, Human growth development, Life span approaches, Educational assessment, and Personality development at the diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes. She is also interested in research, outreach programmes and professional networking.
